After I saw this I wanted to make something using red, white and blue, so that is what I did on Memorial Day. I will post it on my blog soon.

The Christening gown is beautiful and the history behind it. Thank you for sharing the story.

Have a great day!Carol Schockling Laweckihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00118585525880689940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7565269898418464234.post-65742935552666726502009-05-26T18:48:21.661-07:002009-05-26T18:48:21.661-07:00Love the red, white and blue motifs! I guess I'll have to try your version.
That is a lovely Christening gown. You are so fortunate to have that lovely history in the family. Our family trivia is that he was the first one to put zippers in men's pants, but since he worked for a large firm, he was not given credit. True or not, it's fun to bring up in conversation!

The christening gown is gorgeous! I've made to for my granddaughters Eva and Lily. They were not nearly as detailed as this, but I hope they are passed down for at least one more generation!

I'm glad that you posted about patriotic holidays early. For the past two years I've been meaning to use red, white, and blue thread to tat some patterns from Oh, My Stars! I always wait until I don't have time, and then I lose my inspiration. Maybe I'll look for the book and thread today!Lace-lovin' Librarian ~ Dianehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06032689683092213368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7565269898418464234.post-29191858730776754732009-05-22T21:13:24.015-07:002009-05-22T21:13:24.015-07:00Both of your motifs are so nice!
